AKRAMATIC ENGINEERING CO. LTD is seeking a skilled and reliable MIG/TIG Welder to join our engineering and fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding and fabricating sheet metal components to a high standard, working from technical drawings, and maintaining safe and efficient workshop practices.
Location: Alfreton, Derbyshire, DE55 7GN
Employment Type: Full-time / Permanent
Responsibilities:
- Welding and fabricating sheet metal components to specifications using MIG/TIG processes
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans
- Occasional use of power tools including grinders, drills, saws, and cutting equipment
- Ensuring all work meets required quality standards and tolerances
- Adhering to workplace health and safety procedures at all times
- Maintaining tools and equipment in safe, good working condition
- Working independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a sheet metal welder/fabricator
- Competent in MIG and TIG welding (or other processes as required)
- Confident and safe use of hand and power tools
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Relevant trade qualification or equivalent practical experience (preferred)
Hours & Pay:
- Hours: Monday to Thursday, 39 hours per week
- Overtime: Regular overtime available
- Pay Rate: £14.50–£15.50 per hour (depending on experience) + profit share scheme
