Overview
One Small Step is a small family-run nursery committed to a safe and secure environment where parents feel comfortable leaving their child. Our pedagogy combines modelling, observational learning, guided learning and direct teaching; children learn through play.
Responsibilities
- Support the daily operation of the nursery as a practitioner.
- Lead circle time and plan activities; work as part of a team to deliver the curriculum.
- Model and support the nursery\'s pedagogy, including play-based learning, observation, guided learning and direct teaching.
- Contribute to safeguarding and ensure a safe, secure environment.
- Adhere to rota hours between 7:15am–5:30pm, Monday to Friday; assist with holiday closures as required.
- Maintain professional development through progression support for study.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in childcare
- Minimum 2 years qualified experience
- Strong knowledge of the current EYFS
- Safeguarding
- First Aid Training
- Food Hygiene
- Keyworker knowledge
- Confident to lead circle time and plan activities
- Be able to work in a team; be enthusiastic and motivated
Employment Details
- Salary on experience: £12.00-£14.00 per hour
- Full-time or Part-time options; 4 or 5 day week; 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays; 30 hours or 24-hour weeks also available
- Expected hours: 16–40 per week
- Shifts: 7:15am–5:30pm; Bank holidays closed; one week in August and over Christmas
- Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temp to perm
Compliance
