We're currently recruiting a dedicated M&S Instore Baker to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in a major High Street brand on a part time basis, contracted to 20 hours per week. As a M&S Instore Baker, you will use your skills to maintain a high standard of quality work. - Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure all company policies and procedures are in place and delivered by the team maintaining and delivering Brand Targets and Critical KPI's.
- Comply with Corporate Social Responsibilities in line with Environmental Impact ensuring effective waste management while delivering our social mobility commitments.
- Role model leadership behaviours and Brand Standards always creating a positive working environment, using great communication to ensure all information is shared with relevant members of the team when implementing new initiatives to drive success.
- Take responsibility to improve all KPIs and Brand standards on a daily basis whilst challenging and investigating any risk to Brand through feedback to line Management.
- Complete own training both Compass E-Learning and Brand Training Plans and ensure your team maintain up to date training for all areas of Food safety.
- Planning and managing an efficient opening and closing of the In store bakery.
- Ensure all weekly due diligence is printed in line with M&S trading weeks and updates communicated through a sign off procedure to all ISB teams.
- Follow weekly bake plan and use waste tracker to ensure availability through managing waste and sales.
- Complete Planogram implementation and correct ticketing checks several times per day including trading safely and legally pricing and allergen signage.
- Clean as you go ensuring due diligence is completed, that daily and weekly tasks and action taken where there are gaps/errors.
- Manage stock deliveries and accurate stock controls as agreed by store manager, ensure that all rubbish is disposed of in accordance with the store activities.
- Make sure that the required standards of attitude and shop-keeping standards are met by the completion of the daily tasks giving time and accountability to achieve the required checks.
- Reviews gap scanning performance and conducts the appropriate gap counts.
- Reviews Gaps in stock to improve on shelf availability.
- Ensure tickets are printed prior to open each day delivering full legal compliance.
- Ensures Stock Action News, Link messages, red alerts and product restrictions are actioned and completed.
- Respond and deal with questions, concerns and complaints from customers, offering the best resolution to the situation.
- Balance the needs of the section that you are coordinating with the needs of the whole store.
- Allocate tasks and follow up progress with Customer Assistants working on the section.
- Respond to mail, questions and feedback from Store or HO management.
- Support the section manager to deliver the Working Week Targets.
- To embrace new technology and ways of working sharing best practise and sharing ways of working.
- Ensure disposables and consumables are stocked ensuring full availability, notifying your manager of any discrepancies or delivery issues.
- Ensure that during quiet periods you support the sales/floor team in delivering great customer service by completing the service observations and giving priority to the customer service required on the department.
What else do you need to know?
As an ISB Supervisor you may be required to work in another unit and not just your section. You may be asked to complete tasks that are not in your usual daily routine, this is to support the needs of the business. As an ISB Supervisor you will deliver a fully operational role with department accountability. This will include all areas of the sales floor operation. There will be a requirement to cover days off and holidays for the wider sales floor team. Your hours of work will be reviewed on a regular basis to ensure they reflect the needs of the Supervisory role. You would still be required to perform store retail duties where necessary. E.g. going on tills at peak times (list not exhaustive). You will be assessed by your manager in your role as an ISB Supervisor to ensure the required standards are consistently met. You will not be required to perform any Line Management functions as an ISB Supervisor unless trained and directed to do so by your manager, but you will be required to give instruction & coordinate Customer Assistant activities.

- Eager to learn, taking control of own development and the development of team ensuring succession plans are in place for your department and the store.

- Some experience in Retail, Catering and Customer service desirable but not essential.
