Position: Procurement Manager
Location: Grimsby
Salary: £237.32 per day
Shift: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Temporary Position, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate)
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: Friday, 18 Jul 2025

About Our Client:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Procurement and Contracts Category Manager to join a forward-thinking public sector organisation. This temporary role offers the chance to make a significant impact by providing high-quality, cost-effective procurement and contract management support. You will play a key role in delivering robust practices to maximise value and efficiency. There is potential for the position to become permanent based on performance and organisational needs.

Key Duties:

  1. Lead procurement activities for the ICT and Professional Services categories.
  2. Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure compliance with Public Contract Regulations and internal policies.
  3. Offer expert advice and guidance to service areas on procurement and contract management, ensuring adherence to procedures, sustainability, and social value objectives.
  4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, promoting best practices in procurement.
  5. Support high-value, complex procurement projects, ensuring clarity of outcomes and effective performance measures.
  6. Assist in maintaining the Procurement Pipeline and advancing procurement-related policy and strategy.

Requirements:

  1. Expertise in managing tenders, contract negotiations, and supplier engagements.
  2. Experience monitoring and managing strategic, large-value contracts.
  3. Familiarity with diverse services in complex organisations, including partnerships.
  4. Strong grasp of current procurement practices, legislative requirements, and electronic tendering systems.
  5. Understanding of strategic contract management and local authority financial controls.
  6. Strategic thinker with problem-solving capabilities.
  7. Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
  8. Ability to analyse complex situations and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
  9. Project management expertise with a focus on driving change and improvement.

Qualifications:

  1. Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  2. Full membership by examination of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent.
  3. Commitment to continuous professional development.
