Position Overview

This exciting opportunity sits within the Finance Team and works closely with the Commercial Team, acting as a strategic financial business partner. The Commercial Accountant will play a key role in analysing commercial performance, offering insights, and helping to drive profitable growth in a dynamic and evolving market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a financial business partner to the Commercial Team, offering insights and recommendations.
  • Support, challenge, and contribute to the annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
  • Analyse pricing, promotions, and overall commercial performance.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual commercial reports for the leadership team.
  • Carry out business modelling to assess the commercial impact of key proposals.
  • Monitor and accrue customer promotions, rebates, and marketing costs accurately.
  • Provide cover for detailed product costs and assist with monthly management accounts.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Finance Team to ensure operational continuity.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Finance Team within the food manufacturing sector.
  • Experience in commercial accounting is highly desirable.
  • Qualified by experience, part-qualified, or fully qualified (AAT/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Strong Excel and IT skills, with an analytical mindset.
  • High attention to detail, and strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Confident in challenging decision-making constructively and professionally.
