Role Description
The F Gas Trainer role is a contract, on-site position based in Cannock.
The trainer will deliver structured F Gas training and assessment to learners working in air conditioning, refrigeration, and heat pump sectors, ensuring alignment with LCL Awards standards and current industry regulations.
Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and training materials, delivering classroom and practical workshop sessions, supervising learners during hands‑on activities, and assessing competence through formal assessments and feedback.
The trainer will maintain accurate training records, support learners with guidance and mentoring, and contribute to continuous improvement of course content and delivery.
The role also involves collaborating with the training team to ensure safety, compliance, and a positive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Strong technical expertise and hands‑on experience in F Gas handling, air conditioning, refrigeration, and heat pump systems.
- Proven experience delivering technical training or apprenticeship programs, including lesson planning, classroom instruction, and practical skills coaching.
- Up-to‑date knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices related to F Gas, flammable refrigerants, and environmental compliance.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups of learners and adapt teaching styles.
- Relevant industry qualifications (e. g., F Gas certification, Level 3 or equivalent in Refrigeration/Air Conditioning/Heat Pumps) and, essential, a recognised teaching or assessing qualification (e. g., AET, PTLLS, Assessor Award).
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate training and assessment records.
- Commitment to health and safety, learner welfare, and inclusive, non‑discriminatory training practices.
