We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on Marketplace Manager to lead the performance and people strategy across up to four convenience retail locations. This is a brand-new, elevated role — perfect for experienced Store Managers ready to scale their impact, develop future leaders, and drive consistent results across multiple sites.
As the Marketplace Manager, you’ll be the leader of your cluster — owning everything from team performance to customer satisfaction, compliance to commercial KPIs. You’ll lead by example, build strong store teams, and ensure every location under your care thrives.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leadership & Development
- Lead, support and coach up to 3 Store Managers and their teams
- Conduct regular store visits, 1:1s, and team reviews
- Build talent pipelines and champion colleague development and succession
- Operational Excellence
- Ensure all stores meet company standards in presentation, cleanliness, stock, and service
- Oversee scheduling, payroll control, and rota efficiency across multiple locations
- Drive consistency and best practice sharing between stores
- Sales & Performance
- Take ownership of KPIs across your marketplace: sales, shrinkage, wage %, profit
- Support stores in implementing promotions, stock management
- Regularly review store performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Compliance & Procedures
- Ensure all stores adhere to company policy, licensing laws, and age-restricted product regulations
- Oversee accurate cash handling and security procedures
- Maintain high audit and compliance scores across all sites
What You’ll Need
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail management (multi-site experience is a bonus)
- A passion for leading teams and developing others
- Confidence in driving performance through KPIs and commercial metrics
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
- A full UK driving license and flexibility to travel between locations
- A personal license holder qualification (or willingness to obtain)
