We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Urgent Care Technician (UCT) to join our team at Corby Urgent Care Centre. As a key member of our Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), you will be supporting the clinical team to deliver high-quality care in a safe environment that meets the needs of our patients. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills, while making a real difference in people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake a range of clinical tasks including phlebotomy, ECG, bladder scanning, application of casts, and vital sign measurements.
  • Support registered professionals in patient preparation, recovery, and assisting during clinical procedures.
  • Provide practical support and guidance to patients to help improve their health and encourage healthier lifestyles.
  • Re-stock clinical areas, assist with administrative duties, and ensure diagnostic requests are expedited.
  • Participate in health promotion activities and primary prevention initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality in line with Caldicott requirements and ensure patient privacy and dignity at all times.
  • Provide support and encouragement to patients in self-managing their conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with the MDT, attend team huddles, and ensure that high standards of patient care are met.

About You:

  • Experience in clinical environments such as general practice, minor injury units, A&E, or the ambulance service is desirable.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Capable of working under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to use IT systems and manage data entry effectively.
  • A passion for improving the health and well-being of patients and their communities.

About Corby Urgent Care Centre

Corby Urgent Care Centre offers a high standard of unscheduled care from early morning to late evening for patients attending with a wide variety of undifferentiated conditions.

The centre is staffed primarily by our team of experienced urgent care clinicians with additional support from other clinical and non-clinical members of staff.

The team is made up of a mixed MDT including GP,s Advanced Practitioners, Nurses and Urgent Care Technicians. The team is also supported by the Non Clinical team. They all work together to create a positive and rewarding workplace environment for colleagues delivering a high-quality experience for patients.
