Located in a prominent position on Shoreditch High Street, One Hundred Shoreditch has 258 bedrooms, five restaurants and bars including a breakfast restaurant, a destination cocktail bar and a rooftop bar and terrace, offering panoramic views over East London.
The Waiter will play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences across all hotel food and beverage outlets, including the rooftop bar, lobby bar and coffee shop, restaurant spaces, and event operations. You will provide warm, professional, and efficient service, ensuring that every guest interaction reflects the standards and values of One Hundred Shoreditch. This role requires flexibility, strong product knowledge, teamwork, and a commitment to service excellence in both day-to-day outlet operations and special events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Guest Service
- Provide warm, friendly, and professional service to all guests.
- Greet guests where required, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable experience, always ensuring that company standards of service are being met.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and deliver them promptly and courteously.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive, personalised service.
- Ensure all service meets the hotel's presentation and quality standards.
- Handle guest feedback professionally and elevate concerns when necessary.
- Contribute to creating memorable dining and event experiences.
- Food & Beverage Knowledge
- Maintain strong knowledge of menus across all outlets, including cocktails, wines, spirits, coffee and non-alcoholic beverages, food offerings, ingredients, allergens and cross contaminations.
- Be able to offer alternatives.
- Make informed recommendations and confidently upsell appropriate items.
- Promote special offers and seasonal promotions where applicable.
- Order & Service Management
- Accurately process orders using the POS system.
- Communicate clearly with F&B team regarding orders and special requests.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and well-presented delivery of food and beverages, where standards should be met all time.
- Manage multiple tables or event sections efficiently during service periods.
- Event Operations Support
- Assist in the setup of event spaces, including tables, chairs, linens, glassware, and décor in line with event briefs.
- Be able to read through a BEO (Business event order) and understand it.
- Support smooth execution of conferences, private dining, and special events.
- Participate in event breakdown and resetting of spaces.
- Maintain high service standards during banqueting and large-scale functions.
- Operational Efficiency & Presentation
- Prepare and maintain clean, organised service areas across all outlets.
- Ensure tables, service stations, and event spaces remain tidy throughout service.
- Support effective guest flow and seating management.
- Always maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas.
- Work closely with F&B teams to ensure seamless service.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and managers.
- Support colleagues during busy periods to maintain service standards.
- Attend team briefings, training sessions, and menu updates.
- Compliance & Health & Safety
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Comply with food handling and responsible alcohol service laws.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with hotel policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe environment for guests and colleagues.
