About the Role
One Hiring (AI) are working in partnership with a top 10 firm to hire a qualified senior into their fast-growing Funds Tax team. This is a specialist, high-growth area focusing on private equity and alternative investment funds. You’ll work across a broad portfolio of fund structures, supporting both complex tax reporting and advisory projects throughout the full fund lifecycle. This is not a narrow compliance role; you’ll act as a key day-to-day contact for your clients, taking ownership of a portfolio of investment manager structures and becoming a trusted advisor over time.
You’ll sit within a highly integrated tax practice, working closely with specialists across corporate tax, private client, international tax, VAT, transfer pricing, transactions, and audit to deliver a fully rounded service to fund managers and investment structures. Importantly, prior funds experience is not required – this is a development role designed for strong tax professionals looking to specialise.
This top 10 firm's Private Equity and Funds Tax team is one of the fastest-growing areas in the firm, driven by sustained client demand across PE, VC and credit funds. Private Equity is a key strategic growth area, meaning this team is actively scaling and with that comes genuine progression and exposure early in your career.
You’ll be joining a team where:
- You gain exposure to PE, VC and credit fund structures from day one
- You take ownership of a portfolio of clients, not just supporting delivery
- You work on both compliance and advisory (approx. 50/50 split)
- You get real variety across reporting, structuring, and lifecycle events
- You’re supported to develop into a specialist in fund taxation
This is a team that is still growing, not a static structure – opportunity is created, not just inherited.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing the tax reporting process for a portfolio of UK and offshore funds and related entities
- Supporting advisory work including fund structuring, carried interest, investor reporting, and lifecycle events
- Applying existing tax knowledge to complex fund structures and transactions
- Acting as a key client contact and building long-term relationships
- Supporting senior team members on advisory projects including fund formation and restructuring
- Reviewing junior team members’ work and supporting development
- Collaborating across service lines to deliver integrated client solutions
- Supporting proposals and wider business development activity
What we are looking for
We are looking for ambitious, technically strong tax professionals who are keen to develop within a specialist funds environment. You will likely be someone who:
- Enjoys technically challenging tax work and complex structures
- Has strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Enjoys building client relationships and understanding commercial drivers
- Wants to develop specialist expertise in funds taxation
Your experience
- ACA and/or CTA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong grounding in tax (corporate tax, business tax or similar)
- Experience managing client work and meeting deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical issues clearly
- Experience supporting or supervising junior staff
- Interest in PE, VC or alternative investment structures (desirable, not essential)
No prior fund tax experience required; full training provided!
