This is an outstanding M&A Director opportunity with serious progression prospects with a top London firm (LLP)!
About the Team
The motto here is quite simple – leave your ego at the door! The M&A team is close-knit with the original founding Partners still in situ where wins and losses are shared as a team. They provide expert M&A advice to entrepreneurs and founders on mid-market transactions, typically ranging from £10m to £70m EV. Now entering a deliberate growth phase which they plan to achieve by broadening out sector coverage, developing their buy side work through deeper private equity relationships, expanding into divestment/carve-out mandates and leveraging the wider firm opportunities (which are substantial!).
The Opportunity
The team are looking to hire at Director-level (lateral or SM/AD ‘stepping up’) to deleverage the Partners and play a significant part in their growth story. Offering a ‘soft landing’, there is an opportunity to originate and build out your own network as you settle in (dependent on the individual's experience). This isn't a role where you're expected to arrive with a ready-made book of business etc (although if you do, not a problem!).
The Candidate
- A proven track record of mid-market M&A transactions, gained within a corporate finance practice, investment bank, or specialist advisory boutique.
- Strong technical grounding in valuation, deal structuring and negotiation.
- Excellent communication skills, equally comfortable with founders and institutional investors.
- A collaborative, low-ego approach, this is a close team, and how you work with others matters as much as what you deliver.
- A genuine interest in building something over time, not simply executing a fixed brief.
- Professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) are welcomed but not essential, deal experience and track record come first.
Why this Opportunity?
- Direct, founder-facing deal work rather than sitting several layers back in a large deal team.
- The backing, brand and resources of a large firm, without the politics or bureaucracy.
- A genuine growth story new service lines, sector expansion and PE coverage all in build phase, with scope to shape how the team develops.
- A close, collaborative culture where people have worked together for years and genuinely support each other sharing in success as a unit.
- Competitive base salary and bonus structure, plus a clear path to senior leadership within a fairly short time period.
If you're an experienced dealmaker looking for more autonomy, closer client relationships, and the chance to build something within a growing team, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
