Contact: One Hiring are working in partnership with one of London’s few B-Corp mid-tier LLPs and they're currently growing its M&A/Transactions Tax team. This isn’t a traditional “steady-state” TS team; the firm is actively building out its Transactions Tax capability alongside a Corporate Finance function headed by an ex-big 4 that’s grown 3x in the last few years. The practice itself has seen 24% firmwide growth!

The quality and complexity of work is evolving quickly. Historically, deals sat more in the £10m-£30m range, but they’re now regularly advising on transactions in the £50m-£100m space, with increasing exposure to Private Equity backed work, international investors, founder-led businesses and lower mid-market corporates.

They’re already working with (not limited to):

  • Large UK mid-market private equity house (£20m-£200m+ investment capability)
  • Founder led and privately owned B2B businesses (typically SME to lower mid-market scale)
  • Lower mid-market investment fund focused on scaling founder led businesses (£5m-£50m deal range typically)

What you’ll have exposure across:

  • Buy-side & sell-side M&A
  • Tax due diligence
  • Structuring
  • Cross-border transactions
  • Reorganisations & demergers
  • Wider PE and advisory-led work

Do you have a preference for more M&A, transactions, advisory or compliance? Then in this role you’re able to shape it to what you like. You'll also be able to get involved in non-chargeable areas!

The culture feels very different from a typical mid-market setup. The environment is collaborative, entrepreneurial and non-hierarchical, with no individual Partner offices and a real emphasis on accessibility and interaction across the team. The Partners are very open that they want ambitious individuals who enjoy being hands-on technically, taking ownership and helping shape how the team evolves rather than simply sitting behind process. They have described it as ”having the feel of an entrepreneurial, collaborative build”.

Requirements:

  • Must have M&A/Transactions experience/exposure
  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified

Benefits (not limited to):

  • Most people work from home on Fridays
  • You generally won’t be in the office past 6:30pm
  • Summer Friday afternoons off
  • Hybrid working
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Your birthday off
  • Various social events and team gatherings
  • Car scheme

For someone looking for stronger deal exposure, genuine progression and more influence internally without sacrificing deal quality, it’s a very strong opportunity. There are also opportunities within this team at NQ Assistant Manager and Senior Manager grades.
