Are you a tax professional looking for variety, commercial challenge, and real ownership of your work? This is a rare opportunity to join one of the UK’s most diverse and entrepreneurial Family Offices, managing £20bn+ in assets across sectors like property, healthcare, shipping, mining, airports, and even horse racing.
You’ll be working directly with the Head of Tax, supporting both compliance and advisory. This isn’t a role that’s 90% compliance your time will be split between managing tax returns and advising on M&A, restructurings, group reorganisations, withholding tax, and international tax planning.
You’ll gain real exposure to high-value, multi-jurisdictional projects and work alongside the investment and deal teams on deals worth billions. The in-house team is small but dynamic, structured to give you visibility, variety, and ownership across 300–400 entities globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Own UK corporate tax compliance and prepare tax disclosures in local financial statements
- Review capital spend to claim capital allowances and manage cash tax payments with finance teams
- Support VAT issues on an ad hoc basis
- Conduct group tax reviews and help implement ongoing planning and structuring strategies
- Lead ad hoc tax accounting projects and ensure tax aspects are accurately captured
- Maintain and improve tax governance procedures, including SAO, FATCA, CRS, and CCO reporting
- Write and maintain procedure documents aligned with the Group tax strategy
- Get involved in acquisitions, disposals, financing strategies, and due diligence projects
- Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, advisors, and tax authorities
Who We’re Looking For
- 6+ years minimum PQE, ACA or CTA qualified
- Strong corporate tax experience; Alphatax experience is essential
- Exposure to real estate businesses and cross-border structuring is highly desirable
- Knowledge of indirect tax is a plus but not required
- Proven ability to own engagements end-to-end and maintain client relationships
- Enthusiastic about advisory work and working closely with senior stakeholders
