One Hatfield Hospital, part of Phoenix Hospital Group, is looking for an experienced pre‑assessment nurse to join their team on a part‑time basis.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred pre‑assessment care to support safe and effective surgical pathways
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care in line with clinical policies and protocols
- Undertake clinical procedures such as phlebotomy and medication training
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation
- Provide health education and emotional support to patients and their families
- Work autonomously while collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate assessments, investigations and discharge planning
- Support the implementation of service protocols in line with nationally accredited guidelines and evidence‑based practice
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with the NMC
Experience
- Clinical nursing experience in acute surgical care and preferably experience in pre‑assessment clinics
- Proven ability to work independently and within a team
Skills
- Demonstrable knowledge and skills and competency of required clinical practice
- Phlebotomy, cannulation, ECGs and intravenous antibiotics would be an advantage
- Comprehensive written, numerical and verbal communication skills
- Experience in computer skills using MS Office Suite and web‑based reporting systems
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
- Sound understanding of safeguarding principles and policies, with the ability to act appropriately to protect vulnerable individuals
- Enthusiasm for cross‑functional working within clinical departments as reasonably required
- Experience in the private sector
- Experience in pre‑assessment clinics
