One Ashford Hospital (part of Phoenix Hospital Group) based in Ashford, Kent is looking for an experienced Pharmacy Assistant to join our friendly team on a FlexiBank working arrangement.

Key Requirements

  • Have or working towards NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services
  • Previous stock control experience
  • Experience in dealing with the public

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist with the computerised and physical distribution of pharmaceutical products to all clients and departments, ensuring documentation is completed appropriately.
  • Provide a professional and courteous service to patients and hospital staff attending the dispensary.
  • Assist with the organisation and filing of appropriate documentation.
  • Assist with the ward/departmental topping up system to ensure that appropriate pharmaceutical products are available for use by relevant health care personnel, and ensuring these are processed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure stock is received, stored and used for replenishment as appropriate.
  • Be involved in stock rotation, cycle counts and routine expiry date checks within Pharmacy and all departments of the hospital.
  • Help organise the fluid store and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Assist in the disposal of medications where necessary as per the hospital policy.
  • Assist the Pharmacy Technician with the preparation and maintenance of the contents of all resuscitation and special emergency boxes.
  • Assist with labelling and dispensing medication under the supervision of the Pharmacy Technician and Clinical Pharmacist.
