One Health is looking for a fellowship-trained Consultant Urologist to support and grow the One Health Group Spinal Team. The successful candidate will have experience working within a similar role in a private or NHS setting. You should have a professional outlook, empathetic telephone manner and understand the importance of patient confidentiality.

You should currently be in a substantive NHS post OR in a long-term locum post (more than 12 months). If not in current NHS post, should have been a substantive NHS consultant for at least 3 years before leaving the NHS. On GMC register and have no hearings or restrictions. Should have relevant sub-specialist qualifications (for example FRCS {orth} in Orthopaedics) and be on the specialist register.

Main duties of the job:

  • This role will involve assessing and operating on NHS patients referred to One Health, via the NHS e-Referral System.
  • Appointments will be held across a number of outreach clinic sites, with a specific focus on West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire.
  • Operations will take place within a range of independent sector hospitals; the Consultant must therefore be prepared to travel.

Job responsibilities:

The role will involve assessing and operating on NHS patients referred to One Health via the NHS e-Referral System. All surgeons who work with One Health will be subject to our onboarding process and approval from our Clinical Governance Lead. Practicing Privileges will be required to be obtained for each hospital where procedures are undertaken. The work will be undertaken across West Yorkshire & South Yorkshire; the Consultant must therefore be prepared to travel.

Person Specification:

You will have strong written/verbal communication in the English language. You will have experience of working within the relevant surgical specialities within a similar role, in a private or NHS setting and will have previous NHS experience, must be on the GMC Specialist Register and have no licensing restrictions.
