About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Spinal Team Lead to oversee the day-to-day running of the Spinal administration team. This is a key leadership role within our organisation, working in close partnership with the NHS to deliver high-quality patient services. You will lead, support and develop the team while ensuring excellent service delivery for patients and consultants. The role requires strong organisational and leadership skills, with a focus on capacity and demand planning, process improvement, and maintaining high standards of patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop the Spinal administration team, ensuring consistent and effective working practices
- Induct, train and support staff, monitoring performance and completing development reviews
- Oversee capacity and demand planning to ensure clinics and theatres are fully utilised
- Maintain and update consultant clinic and theatre schedules, ensuring accuracy at all times
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with consultants, supporting their needs while managing expectations
- Manage conflict professionally and promote a positive, motivated team environment
- Review administrative processes, identify inefficiencies and implement improvements
- Contribute to business improvement initiatives and encourage team engagement and ideas
- Assess patient feedback and support service development and refinement
- Maintain audit data and produce reports as required
- Ensure confidentiality of patient records at all times
- Prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Undertake additional administrative duties as required
Requirements
- Previous management or leadership experience
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage conflict and remain calm under pressure
- Ability to prioritise and deliver against changing demands
- Self-motivated, proactive and flexible approach
- Strong IT skills with experience using a range of systems
- Experience working within a medical or healthcare setting
