Job summary
One Health is looking for a qualified Consultant Psychiatrist to join our growing Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new and evolving service focused on delivering high-quality ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments for NHS patients (both adults and children).
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development of this service, helping to ensure timely access to clinically robust assessments and excellent patient care.
Work will be carried out through a combination of remote and face-to-face clinics, depending on service requirements.
Applicants should have experience working as a substantive Consultant Psychiatrist within the NHS, be included on the GMC Specialist Register, and hold unrestricted GMC registration and licence to practise.
The role will involve undertaking comprehensive assessments and diagnosis for patients referred for potential Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Conducting ADHD and Autism assessments in line with NICE guidance and best clinical practice.
- Overseeing the assessment and diagnosis of ADHD and Autism assessments by a qualified Neurodevelopmental Assessor.
- Reviewing referral documentation, screening questionnaires and supporting evidence.
- Undertaking diagnostic interviews and comprehensive clinical assessments.
- Producing detailed diagnostic reports and recommendations.
- Communicating assessment outcomes and treatment recommendations to patients, families and referrers.
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues and administrative teams.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and adhering to relevant professional, clinical governance and regulatory standards.
- Supporting the ongoing development and quality improvement of One Health's neurodevelopmental services.
- Opportunities to provide medication initiation and review clinics may be available as the service develops.
- Participating in audit, quality improvement and clinical governance activities as required.

One Health is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join its Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team.

The successful candidate will work as part of a patient-centred service focused on delivering timely, evidence-based assessments, ensuring excellent clinical outcomes and patient experience while supporting the continued growth and development of One Health's neurodevelopmental offering.

Essential
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in General Adult Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Learning Disability Psychiatry, or another relevant Psychiatry specialty.
- Experience working as a substantive Consultant Psychiatrist within the NHS (12 months+).
- Demonstrable experience in the assessment and diagnosis of ADHD and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience producing comprehensive clinical reports and diagnostic documentation.
- Ability to work independently whilst maintaining high clinical and governance standards.
Desirable
- Experience setting up and leading a ADHD and Autism assessment Service
- Experience working within NHS neurodevelopmental pathways.
- Experience delivering assessments remotely using digital platforms.
- Experience of contributing to service development and improvement initiatives.
- Experience assessing both ADHD and Autism across a broad patient population.
