One Hatfield Hospital, part of Phoenix Hospital Group, is looking for an experienced pre‑assessment nurse to join their team on a part‑time basis. Reporting to the Pre‑Assessment Lead, the successful Part‑Time Pre‑Assessment Nurse will:
- Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred pre‑assessment care to support safe and effective surgical pathways.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care in line with clinical policies and protocols.
- Undertake clinical procedures such as phlebotomy and medication training; maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation.
- Provide health education and emotional support to patients and their families; work autonomously while collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate assessments, investigations and discharge planning.
- Support the implementation of service protocols in line with nationally accredited guidelines and evidence‑based practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Nurse with NMC.
EXPERIENCE
- Clinical nursing experience in acute surgical care and preferably experience in pre‑assessment clinics.
- Proven ability to work independently and within a team.
SKILLS
- Demonstrable knowledge and skills and competency of required clinical practice.
- Phlebotomy, cannulation, ECGs, and intravenous antibiotics would be an advantage.
- Comprehensive written, numerical and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in computer skills using MS Office Suite and web‑based reporting systems.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- A sound understanding of safeguarding principles and policies, with the ability to act appropriately to protect vulnerable individuals.
DESIRABLES
- Enthusiasm for cross‑functional working within clinical departments as reasonably required.
- Experience in the private sector.
- Experience in pre‑assessment clinics.
