One Hatfield Hospital, part of Phoenix Hospital Group, are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our Senior Management Team. This is a high-impact leadership role for a proven business development professional who understands how to grow activity in a private healthcare environment through strategic stakeholder relationships, intelligent marketing, consultant engagement and new revenue opportunities. As the successful Business Development Manager, you will work directly with the Hospital Director to shape and deliver the hospital's sales, marketing and growth strategy, playing a key role in expanding our referral base across private and public commissioners, consultants, GPs, corporate organisations and self-pay markets.
Role Responsibilities
- Developing and delivering the hospital’s sales and marketing strategy in line with the overall business plan
- Building and managing key stakeholder relationships across consultants, GPs, commissioners, corporates and referrers
- Identifying and developing new revenue streams and business opportunities
- Driving consultant engagement, activity and capacity optimisation
- Leading and overseeing the marketing and events function, website performance and online presence
- Working closely with Finance to understand profitability and priority growth areas
- Producing performance reports, analysing trends and implementing actions to drive results
- Supporting self-pay campaigns and corporate engagement initiatives
- Proactively targeting new consultants and new referral sources
- Acting as a visible ambassador for the hospital within the local healthcare community
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree level education (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years experience in business development, sales or marketing ideally within private healthcare
- A proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue or activity targets
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals and stakeholders
- Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking
- Excellent presentation, networking and communication skills
- Project management capability and strong organisational skills
- A self-motivated, ambitious and proactive approach
- The ability to work collaboratively across clinical, operational and corporate teams
