Are you an experienced Structural Engineer ready to step into an Associate role and lead a talented team on major RC frame and residential projects? We are working with a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, who are looking for an Associate Structural Engineer to join their Central London office. This is a strategic appointment for a professional who combines deep technical expertise in multi-storey reinforced concrete design with the leadership skills necessary to manage a project team. You will work across a diverse portfolio whilst taking a lead role in client liaison and the technical direction of the department.
The Associate Structural Engineer will:
- Co-lead and manage a dedicated project team of 7 engineers, overseeing the delivery of high-quality structural engineering solutions from concept to completion.
- Take the technical lead on complex multi-storey RC frame designs alongside projects utilising steel, timber, and masonry.
- Design and review structural elements to British Standards and Eurocodes, ensuring full compliance and technical excellence.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients and project teams, representing the practice in meetings and on site.
- Utilise and oversee the use of industry-standard software, including TEKLA Structural Designer, Robot, and TEDDS.
- Mentor junior and senior engineers, fostering a positive working attitude and a culture of continuous professional development.
- Contribute to the commercial success of the firm through efficient project management and high quality deliverables.
We are looking for an Associate Structural Engineer with:
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience within a UK based structural consultancy.
- A BEng or MEng in Civil/Structural Engineering and Chartership with a relevant body (IStructE or ICE).
- Proven experience in multi-storey RC frame design and a strong background in the residential sector.
- A track record of successfully managing and developing an engineering team.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to lead multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Proficiency in TEKLA Structural Designer, Robot, and TEDDS (desirable).
