Are you a Civil Engineer looking to take full ownership of your drainage designs? If you feel like a small cog in a massive machine, this is your chance to join a streamlined, specialist team in Basingstoke where your technical input directly impacts project success.

Working alongside an Associate and a Director, you won’t just be hands on with technical work, you will be managing small projects independently, navigating the planning process, and evolving into a technical authority as a project leader.

The successful Civil Engineer will:

  • Handle projects from the pre-planning stage through to on site construction, ensuring that every design is both innovative and compliant.
  • Take preliminary outlines and transform them into technical, detailed design packages for construction.
  • Work on Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and drainage reports that stand up to the scrutiny of clients and local authorities.
  • Act as a bridge between the firm and external bodies, responding to planning conditions and managing client expectations via phone and email.
  • Master industry standard drainage modelling software (Civil 3D / Site 3D) to ensure every solution is cost efficient and technically robust.
  • Manage small scale projects without supervision and provide vital mentorship to technicians and students.
  • Actively work toward your EngTech, IEng, or CEng professional qualification with full internal support.

We are looking for a Civil Engineer with:

  • A BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering is preferred, though we value proven "on-the-job" expertise.
  • A strong grasp of civil engineering principles with a specific focus on drainage and SuDS.
  • Confidence in the use of drainage modelling software and a strong understanding of current UK standards.
  • The ability to explain complex technical solutions clearly to clients and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A commitment to 30 hours of CPD annually and a desire to achieve professional chartership.

In return, the successful Associate Structural Engineer will receive:

  • Flexitime as standard, including the 3pm Friday Finish and a hybrid 3/2 office-home split.
  • 22 days holiday, an extra day for your Birthday, and a Christmas Shutdown that doesn’t use your annual leave.
  • 4.5% Employer Pension, Death in Service cover, and a generous long-term sickness scheme (13 weeks full pay).
  • Access to a Health Cash Plan (dental/medical), Virtual GP services, and professional counselling.
  • We are an ICE-approved training provider; we pay for your professional membership fees and provide a clear roadmap to Chartership.

✨Master the Software

Familiarise yourself with Civil 3D and Site 3D before the interview. If you can demonstrate your proficiency with these tools and discuss how you've used them in past projects, it’ll give you a significant edge. Consider bringing examples of your work or even a portfolio to showcase your skills.
