Are you an experienced Principal Structural Engineer looking to progress into a team leader in Cambridge? A well-established and thriving consultancy with 20 employees across two offices is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to take on a key technical role. This position offers the opportunity to be hands-on with a massive variety of work, from barn conversions and high-end residential extensions to large scale projects such as the University of Cambridge and student accommodations.
Responsibilities
- Take a lead technical role, overseeing the design and delivery of building structures across multiple sectors.
- Provide essential office-based supervision and mentorship to the junior engineering team.
- Conduct structural house surveys and produce detailed technical reports.
- Manage a diverse project portfolio, ensuring technical standards are met from initial concept to completion.
- Act as a technical authority within the office, solving complex engineering challenges on both small and large scale schemes.
- Foster and maintain the firm’s long-standing relationships with repeat clients.
- Contribute to the long-term growth and technical direction of the practice.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in the UK building structures sector (a minimum of 6 years), specifically with residential and education projects.
