What you will do

At One Fylde we like to view our Support Workers more as \”life coaches\” being able to provide guidance to the people we support as well as have the tools and knowledge of handling bills, supporting to increase one\’s self esteem, be an agony aunt, a chef when helping with cooking and a tour guide when travelling abroad!

Our focus is to support people to live as independently as possible, to maintain their home environment, and manage their health, finances, social activities, hobbies and interests, this could be anything from supporting someone to manage their weekly shop, visit friends and family or even to go on Holiday.

Not every day is the same in supported living, you have to be adaptable to the people you are supporting and punctual with your time management. Most of our support revolves around supporting our individuals to access the community whether this is supporting someone swimming, to the cinema, golf or slimming world.

Are you compassionate and patient? Do you have strong communication skills and love working with people? Do you have the ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends? Are you a team player?

For those of you who have not done support work before, full training will be given, in fact we offer full and wide-ranging training opportunities for all, in a charity that encourages personal development.
