One for the Table is a small, independent cafe that opened in Spring 2026.

We serve high-quality brunch & coffee just moments away from Walthamstow Central in East London.

Now we've found our feet, we're looking for a passionate, talented chef who genuinely cares about food, quality ingredients, and great hospitality to lead our kitchen.

As we're still a young business, this is a fantastic opportunity to build on the foundations we've created, improve kitchen systems, and grow alongside the café.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, close-knit team where your ideas and input will genuinely shape the business.

Key responsibilities/What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and cooking high-quality brunch dishes with a focus on flavour, presentation and attention to detail..
  • Ensuring quality & consistency is maintained throughout our busy periods..
  • Keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with food safety standards..
  • Managing stock effectively and helping minimise wastage..
  • Developing seasonal dishes and continually improving our menu..
  • Working closely with the front-of-house team to deliver a seamless customer experience..
  • Liaising with suppliers and placing orders..
  • Helping create efficient kitchen systems as the business continues to grow..
  • Happy to work independently and lead a small team..

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a chef, ideally in a brunch or breakfast setting..
  • Proficiency in various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes.
  • Good insight into the world of hospitality.
  • Strong passion for flavour, presentation, and quality ingredients.
  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of GP, stock, and wastage.
  • Organised, reliable, and a good communicator..
  • A genuine team player who thrives in a small, close-knit environment.
  • Confident in running a small kitchen independently.
