A highly respected and long-established civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a major Water Treatment Works project, alongside a diverse portfolio of infrastructure schemes across the region. This is an excellent opportunity to join a financially secure business with a strong reputation for quality delivery, collaborative culture, and long-term investment in its people.
Unlike many roles focused solely on one sector, this position offers broad exposure across civil engineering, including:
- Water & wastewater infrastructure
- Roads & highways
- Rail
- Drainage & utilities
- Earthworks and associated civils works
The initial project focus will be within water treatment, making previous water sector experience highly desirable. However, candidates with strong general civil engineering project delivery experience from sectors such as highways, infrastructure, rail or utilities are also encouraged to apply.
The Role
You will take ownership of projects from pre-construction through to delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing civil engineering projects through all delivery phases
- Leading site teams and subcontractors
- Client and stakeholder management
- Programme and cost control
- Ensuring compliance with HSEQ standards
- Driving collaboration across operational and commercial teams
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with Project Managers who have:
- Proven experience delivering civil engineering projects
- Exposure to infrastructure works such as roads, drainage, utilities, rail or water
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and programme management capability
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
Water or wastewater project experience would be advantageous, though not essential.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This business has built an enviable reputation within the industry for:
- Delivering high-quality infrastructure projects
- Maintaining a strong pipeline of secured work
- Investing in employee development and progression
- Creating a supportive, team-oriented culture
- Offering genuine long-term career stability
It's the type of contractor where people build careers - not just complete projects.
