About The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Operative will be responsible for carrying out responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and minor refurbishments across residential and commercial properties. This role involves daily travel to properties across London, ensuring high standards of workmanship and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out responsive and planned maintenance tasks efficiently. Ensure all works are completed to high safety and quality standards. Work independently and as part of a team to resolve maintenance issues quickly.
  • Core Trades & Skills:
    • Plumbing - Fix leaks, install pipework, repair toilets & taps.
    • Carpentry - Install doors, kitchen units, skirting boards, and flooring repairs.
    • Plastering & Painting - Patch repairs, surface preparation, and redecoration.
    • General Handyman Work - Fitting fixtures, minor repairs, and general property upkeep.
    • Groundworks & Fencing - Minor landscaping, paving repairs, and fence installations.
    • Compliance & Safety Checks - Ensuring work meets H&S regulations.
  • Communication & Customer Service: Liaise with property managers, tenants, and landlords to ensure smooth job completion. Provide clear job reports, before-and-after photos, and updates using digital systems. Work closely with office coordinators to ensure efficient scheduling and completion of tasks.
  • Company Representation & Professionalism: Maintain high levels of professionalism and customer service at all times. Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment are well maintained. Follow company policies and health & safety procedures at all times.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in property maintenance, facilities management, or a related trade.
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve effectively.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • A full UK driving license (essential).
  • Relevant qualifications in plumbing, carpentry, or multi-trade skills (preferred).
  • Right to work in the UK (we do not offer sponsorship).
