We are looking for a proactive and motivated individual to join our team to support the business in further growing our flagship awardâwinning product: AIVR (Automated Intelligent Video Review) â a stateâofâtheâart video technology system used by thousands of people in the rail industry.
Role Summary
We are looking for an Engineer to join our Site Team, supporting projects installed on trains across the UK and at our Derby production facility. This is a handsâon role involving installation, commissioning and maintenance of advanced technologies such as machineâvision cameras, laser measurement systems, thermal sensors, embedded Linux, IP networking and GPS/4G/5G.
Youâll split your time between site visits nationwide and our Derby office, ensuring systems are kept running safely and efficiently. Experience with fieldâbased technology such as CCTV, monitoring or measurement equipment is preferred, while confidence working in secure or restricted environments is essential. Prior rail industry experience would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with clients to understand and help plan timings for siteâbased activities.
- Plan work, risk assessments and method statements.
- Contribute to design, building, configuring and testing systems.
- Install and commission systems that have been tested in our production facilities.
- Independently carry out work onâsite in a safetyâconscious and professional manner.
- Build relationships with key onâsite personnel.
- Communicate proactively with other team members to troubleshoot problems and create solutions.
- Create and maintain technical and test documentation.
- Work with our Business Development team to carry out unit/location surveys for potential new projects and installs.
- Ensure tools, materials and work areas are kept organised and safe.
- Follow health & safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Report faults, hazards and incidents to the supervisor/manager.
- Support other site operations as required.
Personal Qualities and Experience
- Selfâmotivated, reliable and handsâon with a positive, proactive approach.
- Strong communication, organisational and problemâsolving skills.
- Effective under pressure with the ability to multitask and prioritise work.
- Flexible and adaptable, with meticulous attention to detail when required.
- Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills, including documentation/specification writing.
- Safetyâconscious, responsible and punctual.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks.
- Experience delivering projects in an industrial environment; rail industry experience and certification desirable.
- A UK driving licence, along with flexibility to travel to sites across the UK, is essential for this role.
