We strongly encourage those from under‑represented groups to be confident in applying to us. You do not need to have any formal experience working in software but you should be able to demonstrate your interest by having done something or worked on a ‘passion project’ yourself. You might have built a home automation controller, a robot, or a data logger or similar, using microcontrollers, Arduino or Pi, or some other relevant activity.
