About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished Financial Controller to take ownership of delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting for our organisation. You will play a central role in monthly management accounts, budget monitoring, VAT reporting and overall financial control. Partnering closely with the CFO and Directors, you’ll influence strategic decision‑making, support business development activity and drive improvements across financial processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed monthly management accounts with performance, trend and variance analysis.
- Support budget preparation, monitoring and reporting.
- Oversee cash flow forecasting, accruals and variance analysis.
- Ensure timely and accurate VAT returns and tax compliance.
- Manage statutory accounts preparation and lead the year‑end audit process with external auditors.
- Strengthen internal controls and drive continuous improvement in financial processes.
- Support group reporting including multi‑currency (FX) consolidation.
- Deliver costing analysis and provide financial insight to support operational decisions.
- Partner with the CFO and Directors on business development, cost assessments and planning.
- Identify and support system enhancements, particularly around analytics and forecasting tools.
- Produce ad hoc reporting and undertake project work, including cost‑reduction initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Professional qualification: ACA, ACMI or ACCA, with 3–5 years PQE.
- Significant experience as a Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller.
- Background in the Aviation industry (highly desirable).
- Strong technical knowledge: IFRS, group reporting, multi‑currency environments.
- Demonstrated ability in cash flow management, costing, and variance analysis.
- Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite (advantageous).
- Good people management skills.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and advanced Excel experience.
- Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
- Strong organisational, planning, problem‑solving and leadership skills.
- Living within reasonable commuting distance of our Head Office in Hampton Wick and have the right to work in the UK.
