We're looking for a Product Design Lead to drive the user experience and design quality across Ondato's platform. This role combines hands-on product design with design leadership, helping us create intuitive, trustworthy, and efficient experiences for fintechs, platforms, and regulated businesses. You will build and lead a team of designers, establish design best practices, and help grow a strong design culture across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Define and own the design strategy aligned with product and business goals.
  • Oversee the end-to-end product design process, from discovery to prototyping, testing, and delivery.
  • Partner closely with Product managers, Engineers, and customer-facing teams to ensure seamless integration of design into the product development and customer value delivery.
  • Build a deep understanding of customers and their needs through research, interviews, usability testing, and data analysis to guide design decisions and product improvements.
  • Advocate for design excellence across the organization, influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Own and evolve Ondato's design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, accessibility, and design quality across products.
  • Establish UX/UI standards and best practices and advocate for customer-centric decision-making across teams.
  • Build, lead and mentor a high-performing design team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and measure the impact of design on user engagement and satisfaction, using data and experimentation to inform decisions.
  • Leverage AI tools and modern design workflows to accelerate research, ideation, prototyping, and design validation.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in UX, UI, or Product Design, ideally within SaaS, fintech, regtech, or other complex digital products.
  • 3+ Years in Design leadership role, with experience managing teams and driving design strategy.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating product thinking, design craft, user-centered problem solving, and measurable business impact.
  • Hands-on involvement across the full product development from concept to launch with a clear understanding of the challenges at each stage.
  • Strong expertise in interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and usability principles.
  • Experience in leading customer workshops and discovery sessions to translate complex needs into simple, actionable design solutions.
  • Experience building and maintaining design systems used by product teams.
  • Ability to balance customer needs, business goals, technical constraints, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and inspire across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Curiosity, ownership mindset, critical thinking, and a passion for creating intuitive experiences for complex products.
