About the Role
The role of the Group Health and Safety Manager is to ensure that the organisation meets the necessary legislative obligations that are applicable to the countries in which we operate and to drive the continuous improvement of Health and Safety standards throughout the organisation. To lead the assessment, development and implementation of Health and Safety policies, procedures, and practices across the organisation is essential alongside the provision of advice, support and guidance at all levels on matters of legal compliance relating to Health and Safety. Professional qualifications in Health and Safety and experience in a similar role is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage a Health and Safety management system that can expand with the business’s ambitious growth strategy.
- Ensure that an up-to-date knowledge of the health and safety legal requirements in all territories is maintained.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Health and Safety legislation and incorporate any updates in law into the management system.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 requirements, and maintenance of the ISO 45001 certification where applicable.
- Plan and conduct internal audit against legal and regulatory, ISO45001 and business requirements.
- Conduct due diligence as part of Once For All Group acquisitions.
- Conduct gap analysis against ISO45001 for entities in the Group where certification is yet to be achieved, and plan and facilitate implementation/extension to scope of the HSMS.
- Conduct business risk assessments and inspections.
- Conduct investigations, record, report and analyse all accidents and near miss incidents.
- Work with and provide internal training to employees at all levels to manage, monitor and improve Health and Safety standards in the workplace.
- Provide departmental support to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of employees, visitors and contractors.
- Work with third parties to deliver health and safety procedures and training in line with local country requirements.
- Manage emergency procedures and organise emergency teams such as first aiders and fire wardens.
- Provide general Health and Safety advice to all employees across the group.
- Liaise and communicate with external enforcement agencies and regulators as required.
- Be actively involved in continuous improvement throughout the business.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the Once For All Group worldwide, respecting local cultures while meeting legal, regulatory and business requirements.
- Travel to Group entities, including internationally, as required.
Qualifications
- IOSH membership
- Experience implementing and maintaining ISO45001
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Health and Safety role
- An ability to positively represent the company and engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to organise and prioritise workload
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment that leverages diverse perspectives to achieve common goals
- Skilled in building and maintaining strong working relationships with both internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and facilitating successful project outcomes
- Consistently upholds company policies and core values, serving as a role model for ethical conduct, integrity, and respect in all professional interactions.
- Proficiency in a second language, preferably French or Spanish.
