Role Summary

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape the future of the Once For All platform. You will be part of a small, cross-functional product team (Design, Frontend, Backend, QA, Product) working together to deliver meaningful product outcomes, not just design outputs. This is not a traditional handoff model—design and engineering collaborate closely throughout. You’ll be working in a fast-moving environment where problems may not always be fully defined upfront, and comfort with ambiguity is essential. You will play a key role in bridging design and engineering—defining behaviour, logic, and edge cases, and working alongside engineers to bring solutions to life. We are evolving toward a design-to-build way of working, where design takes ideas further toward real product outcomes—without replacing engineering ownership.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end product design as part of a cross-functional team, from discovery through to delivery and iteration.
  • Translate research and product insights into clear, scalable solutions across complex, multi-role workflows.
  • Design with a systems-first mindset, defining components, states, behaviours, and edge cases—not just static screens.
  • Work closely with engineers throughout the process, collaborating on implementation rather than handing off designs.
  • Define interaction logic and product behaviour, ensuring solutions are clear, feasible, and ready to be built.
  • Use AI-assisted workflows to explore, prototype, and iterate quickly—accelerating learning and improving product outcomes.
  • Make thoughtful decisions about when AI adds value to the user experience, and when simpler approaches are more appropriate.
  • Design AI-enhanced experiences where relevant (e.g. assisted workflows, automation, decision support), ensuring clarity and user control.
  • Contribute to and help evolve our design system, and create clear flows and prototypes that communicate behaviour, interaction, and edge cases effectively.
  • Support and mentor other designers through collaboration and feedback.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of product design experience, with a strong focus on B2B SaaS platforms.
  • A portfolio demonstrating complex workflows, systems thinking, and data-heavy or multi-role products.
  • High proficiency in Figma (including variables, tokens, prototyping, and system-based design).
  • Experience working within and contributing to design systems.
  • Experience using AI to support design workflows, with an understanding of where it adds value and where it does not.
  • Strong experience designing end-to-end experiences, with the ability to take work from concept through to build-ready solutions in close collaboration with engineering.
  • Strong understanding of interaction design, states, edge cases, and responsive behaviour.
  • Ability to communicate design intent clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams.
  • Interest in, or experience designing, AI-powered or AI-assisted product experiences (e.g. recommendations, copilots, automation, or decision-support tools).

How Success is Measured

  • Success in this role is measured by product outcomes, not just design output.
  • Improving user efficiency and experience across complex workflows.
  • Delivering solutions that are successfully implemented and adopted.
  • Contributing to faster, more effective collaboration between design and engineering.
  • Raising the overall quality and consistency of the product.

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing for compliance, procurement, ESG, or marketplace platforms.
  • Familiarity with Storybook or similar tools, and how design systems translate into code.
  • Basic understanding of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, React).
  • Familiarity with modern AI‑assisted tools (e.g. Figma Make, Claude, or similar).
  • Experience prototyping or experimenting with code-based or AI‑assisted solutions.
  • Experience designing AI-native interfaces, including handling uncertainty, confidence, and human-in-the-loop interactions.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting other designers.

Why Join Us?

  • Help shape a modern SaaS design function evolving toward design-to-build workflows.
  • Work in a collaborative environment where design and engineering are closely aligned.
  • Opportunity to experiment with AI tools and new ways of building digital products.
  • Flexible, remote-first working model with meaningful in-person collaboration.
  • Competitive salary and the opportunity to have real impact at scale.

What we offer

  • Wellness fund or Private Medical Insurance (dependent upon role)
  • Pension
  • Life Assurance x 3
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 Bank Holidays
  • Ongoing continual professional development (CPD)
  • Holiday purchase Scheme up to 5 days
  • 1 paid and 1 unpaid volunteering day
  • 24/7 and 365 Days Employee Assistance Programme
  • Team and company offsite events
  • Specsavers eye care voucher
  • Free Tea, Coffee and fruit every week – Basingstoke office
