Role Summary
The Group Health and Safety Manager ensures that the organisation meets all legislative obligations across the countries it operates in and drives continuous improvement of Health and Safety standards throughout the business.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and manage a Health and Safety management system that can grow with the business’s expansion strategy.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of health and safety legal requirements in all territories.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Health and Safety legislation and integrate legal updates into the management system.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 requirements and maintain ISO 45001 certification where applicable.
- Plan and conduct internal audits against legal, regulatory, ISO 45001 and business requirements.
- Conduct due diligence for Once For All Group acquisitions.
- Conduct gap analysis against ISO 45001 for entities without certification, and plan and facilitate implementation or extension to HSMS scope.
- Conduct business risk assessments and inspections.
- Investigate, record, report and analyse all accidents and near‑miss incidents.
- Provide internal training to employees at all levels to manage, monitor and improve Health and Safety standards in the workplace.
- Provide departmental support to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of employees, visitors and contractors.
- Collaborate with third parties to deliver local‑country health and safety procedures and training.
- Manage emergency procedures and organise emergency teams such as first aiders and fire wardens.
- Provide general Health and Safety advice to all employees across the group.
- Liaise with external enforcement agencies and regulators as required.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement throughout the business.
- Collaborate with stakeholders worldwide, respecting local cultures while meeting legal, regulatory and business requirements.
- Travel to Group entities, including internationally, as required.
Other Responsibilities
- Adhere to ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 45001 and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
- Follow company policies provided on the intranet.
- Undertake annual training as advised by the GRC team and line manager.
- Perform any other duties reasonably required for the role.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- NEBOSH Diploma certification
- IOSH membership
- Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 45001
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Health and Safety role
- Ability to positively represent the company and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross‑functional teams
- Skilled in building and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external partners
- Consistently upholds company policies and core values, serving as a role model for ethical conduct, integrity and respect
Preferable
- Proficiency in a second language, preferably French or Spanish.
