Onalaja is an emerging womenswear brand. As a studio intern, you will assist with the smooth running of the studio and support the designer with day-to-day tasks. This includes general studio upkeep, organising and tracking tasks, handling admin duties, quality control checks, packing customer orders, moodboarding, operations and running errands, fabric sourcing when needed. There may be some design elements. You’ll play an important role in keeping the studio organised and ensuring everything operates efficiently.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of fabric sourcing and garment construction
- Studying fashion design, textiles, pattern cutting or a design-related subject
- Proficient in hand sewing, hand stitching, and hand finishing
- Attention to detail, organised, and hardworking
- Eager to learn and contribute to a fashion studio
- Start date ASAP. Minimum 20 hours per week for 3 months
- Passionate about building and researching the brand's vision and identity
- Excel/Google Sheets experience and skills
- Experience in PowerPoint / Google Slides / Canva
- Basic presentation skills
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- High level of computer literacy in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of fashion design processes, fabric bases and colour with a familiarity in creating design boards
- Basic machine and hand sewing skills
- Able to assess colour and maintain current knowledge of fashion design processes, fabric bases, proportion and trends
- Able to sketch and illustrate
- Technical drawings and tech pack creation is a bonus
- Graphic design skills is a bonus
