Tilbury , we're looking to recruit an experienced
Night Transport Operator to strengthen our operations team.
This is far more than a monitoring role.
You'll be responsible for keeping our night operation moving, solving problems in real time and ensuring our customers receive the level of service they expect.
- What you'll be doing
- Monitoring vehicle and driver progress throughout the night using our Transport Management System and tracking software.
- Managing delays, breakdowns and operational issues as they happen.
- Maintaining regular communication with drivers, customers and ports.
- Providing proactive ETA updates and resolving service issues.
- Completing VBS bookings and transport administration.
- Supporting compliance with Drivers' Hours and Working Time regulations.
- Producing a detailed operational handover for the day planning team.
- Working closely with planners to maximise fleet utilisation and customer service.
What we're looking for
- Previous experience within a Transport Planning or Traffic Office environment.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
- Confident using Transport Management Systems and Microsoft Office.
- Container transport experience would be advantageous but isn't essential.
