On the Road to Wellness is a non-clinical, member-driven peer support organization focused on supporting adults aged 18 and older in their mental health recovery and wellness journeys. With over 35 years of experience, we provide a safe and inclusive environment where individuals cultivate and maintain wellness through education, communication, and engaging activities. Our services include free transportation and access without insurance or identification requirements to support all individuals.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Residential Peer Support Specialist to join our team. This person will provide peer support for up to 3 guests at a time in a residential setting. We are looking for individuals with weekday evening as well as weekend daytime and evening availability; overnight availability is a plus.
Role and Responsibilities- Provide peer support for up to 3 guests at a time in a residential setting
- Facilitate daily groups and 1-on-1 conversations
- Strategically share lived experiences and wellness strategies to support guests
- Offer accountability and encouragement as guests work toward their personal wellness goals
- Connect with each individual to learn about experiences and unique needs
- Offer relevant resources to help meet unmet needs such as stable housing, access to food, and additional mental and physical health supports as needed
- Reliable transportation, a valid license, and a reasonably clean driving record
- Resume and cover letter required to be considered for an interview
- A strong commitment to your own recovery, self-care, and wellness
- Excellent communication skills and work ethic
