Overview
In this role you will strengthen On the Beach’s engineering platform by building scalable cloud infrastructure and tooling that empowers product teams. You’ll collaborate across Product Engineering, Digital Workplace and InfoSec to reduce friction, improve reliability, and optimize cost. You will explore AI-assisted tooling to evolve our platform and support faster, safer software delivery. This is a chance to shape modern platform engineering at scale in a fast-growing travel tech company.

Responsibilities
- Build and evolve self-service tooling and reusable infrastructure
- Develop CI/CD capabilities and deployment patterns
- Improve cloud reliability, scalability and cost visibility
- Enhance observability, security and FinOps across the platform
- Assist with on-call incident response to maintain reliability
- Mentor peers through pairing, code reviews and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate problems into platform solutions
- Shape the evolution of the platform with pragmatic technical decisions and ownership of complex issues
Key requirements
- Experience in platform, cloud, infrastructure or developer tooling
- Proficiency with AWS and modern cloud-native environments
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code, containers, CI/CD, observability, automation and developer tooling
- Ability to operate across team boundaries and simplify ambiguous problems
- Focus on improving engineer experience beyond keeping infrastructure running
- Knowledge of security guardrails and cost optimization a plus
