We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to take ownership of end-to-end LPG infrastructure projects - from concept through to commissioning and maintenance. You will combine technical excellence with commercial acumen, managing installations including pressure vessels, pipeline networks, vaporisers, and metering systems while ensuring absolute compliance with safety standards. This is more than project delivery—it’s a pivotal role within a strategically critical function. You will shape how we execute projects and directly contribute to our ambitious growth plans in the evolving energy landscape.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of LPG infrastructure projects including pressure vessel/tank installations, pipeline networks, vaporisers, pumps and metering systems.
- Own project planning, scheduling, and budget management, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of projects.
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders including internal teams, contractors, suppliers, customers and regulatory authorities.
- Develop functional design specifications, drawings, and technical documentation for LPG system designs.
- Perform engineering calculations including pressure drops, storage sizing, venting requirements and flow analysis in line with industry standards.
- Provide technical assurance by reviewing and approving contractor submittals and engineering documentation.
- General innovative solutions that balance technical performance and critical safety considerations with customer requirements and commercial viability.
- Ensure compliance with all designs and installations fully compliant with applicable regulations (COPs, GSIUR, BS EN, etc).
- Champion safety culture across all project activities.
- Support safety and hazard reviews (e.g., HAZOP, HAZID) during project development.
- Provide onsite engineering expertise overseeing all project site activities including construction, installation, and commissioning.
- Perform inspections and oversee Factory Acceptance Tests/Site Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT) testing as required.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide proactive engineering support during startup and handover.
- Ensure seamless project handover including finalising all documentation including any adjustments to plans to allow maintenance to be appropriately planned and complete any required client training.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, and third parties.
- Deliver clear project reporting through regular updates and technical reports to project stakeholders.
- Support commercial and business development with technical input on proposals and tenders.

Profile
- Qualified LPG Engineer with working knowledge of LPG system design, storage and delivery infrastructure.
- Proven project management experience from project scoping to commissioning and maintenance including planning resource requirements, budget and scheduling.
- Practical risk management experience with a proven track record of identifying and managing risk (IOSH qualification is desirable).
- Contractor and supplier management experience working to procurement processes.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify, develop and implement process improvements, including writing documentation.
- LPG industry experience with a detailed knowledge of LGUK Codes of Practice including siting distances to buildings, boundaries, fixed sources of ignition, firewalls, compounds and vegetation, pipe material and sizing for low, intermediate and high pressures.
- Proficiency in engineering calculations with the ability to make justified decisions regarding the options available when designing solutions and forming technical proposals.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to decide upon preferred approaches from a cost, safety, and logistic perspective.
