Overview

In this role you will provide cross-functional tax compliance guidance for legal entities across Europe, the U.S., and Asia, focusing on FATCA and AEOI for funds and investment vehicles. You will act as the expert in corporate tax and tax reporting, supporting fund launches, due diligence, and ongoing management while ensuring accurate self-certificates and regulator-ready filings. You will review tax returns, support regulatory submissions, and monitor tax rule changes impacting private markets. The position offers meaningful scope to shape fund structures and tax reporting within a multinational banking context, in collaboration with investment teams and senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide cross-functional tax compliance advisory for entities in Europe, the U.S., and Asia across investment teams and related functions
  • Serve as expert for corporate tax, FATCA, and AEOI in design, launch, and management of registered funds and investment vehicles
  • Review self-certificates for entities and investors for completeness and accuracy
  • Review tax returns prepared by external advisers and assess tax reporting quality to investors
  • Support annual tax compliance processes and regulatory filings (e.g., W-8/W-9, 8-Ks, 10-Q/ Ks, N-CSRs, prospectus updates)
  • Assist day-to-day oversight of legal matters and European tax matters relating to private-market funds
  • Provide regulatory and legal advice to investment professionals and management, including report preparation
  • Monitor changes in international and domestic tax rules and their impact on private market business

Key requirements

  • Degree in Law or Business Law
  • Further education in tax is a plus
  • Legal experience in the fund industry specializing in corporate tax at a top-tier law firm or Big Four tax firm
  • Familiar with fund structures and tax (FATCA/CRS) across multiple jurisdictions (Luxembourg, Ireland, Delaware, Cayman Islands)
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work with and organize diverse documents
  • Team player with strong client service orientation
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Fluency in English
