On-Board Engineering is hiring a Capital Project Engineer in Richmond, VA!
Position Details
- Position Type: Full-Time
- Job Location: Richmond, VA (incentives negotiable for out-of-area candidates)

- Compensation: $50/hr - $70/hr depending upon qualifications

This position is part of our dedicated and nested site operations team, which means this role will continue in perpetuity if the selected candidate’s performance meets expectations. The ideal candidate will be someone who is looking to establish roots and stay for many years to come as an integral part of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring that technical specifications and project requirements are met. Develop detailed project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordination: Act as a liaison between design and implementation teams, coordinating efforts among various stakeholders, including contractors, architects, and engineers.
- Technical Guidance: Provide engineering expertise and technical support throughout the project lifecycle, addressing any technical issues that arise.
- Budget Management: Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and report on financial status, making adjustments as necessary to ensure project success.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and updates, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Stakeholder Communication: Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and changes in scope through reports and presentations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related field)
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or a related field.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD) and a strong understanding of engineering principles.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team collaboration skills, with the ability to delegate tasks effectively.
