Overview/Summary
On-Board Engineering Corp. is hiring a Full-Time Procurement Specialist to be assigned to a client site in Richmond, VA. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing project procurement plans in support of capital projects. Pursues, qualifies, and onboards key suppliers who meet company requirements. Leads teams through supplier selection, contract development and supplier negotiations. Oversees procurement activity executed by the outsourced Capital Procurement team to ensure alignment with project objectives and compliance with corporate strategies.
Responsibilities
- Execution of the procurement process (creating and maintaining purchasing documents, vendor master management, agreement management and payment resolution)
- Monitor and execute all transactions according to company’s internal controls and policies
- Communicate and coordinate actions among all internal and external stakeholders to effectively assure supply of goods and services
- Administration and reporting as necessary (from company systems and external sources)
- Creation, amendment, renewal & management of contracts/ agreements with the various suppliers
- Manages purchases under the approved threshold, sourcing the supplier as per Client strategy, receiving quotations from suppliers, negotiating with suppliers on price & payment terms
- Expediting the delivery of material to make sure the suppliers deliver the material within promised delivery time
- Handling Invoice Disputes and resolving the same to make sure suppliers get paid on time / excess payments are not made
Qualifications
- BA / BS degree (preferred) with focus on Sourcing & Logistics, and/or equivalent work experience
- 5-10 years demonstrated procurement experience required
- Strong understanding of capital project process and capital procurement best practices, policies and procedures
- Experience in negotiating agreements/contracts with strong comprehension of legal and commercial terms and conditions
- Experience in working with intellectual property concepts and contractual language
- Project management experience or Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus
