Job Purpose:

Working within our purpose-built food production facility in Middlesbrough, you will be responsible for supervising a team of production operatives on a line to ensure all products are made to exact specifications with minimal disruptions. Candidates must have a positive and hard-working attitude and be able to motivate staff in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace.

The working pattern for this role with be Sunday - Thursday, 6am start, finish time dependant on production volume.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising your team to ensure that products are made to exact specifications, within food safety procedures and without excessive waste of ingredients, manpower or time.
  • Ensuring your line is running efficiently whilst monitoring quality control through coaching & working alongside line operatives.
  • Ensuring line clearance checks are completed during every change over.
  • Providing training, coaching and mentoring to all employees to ensure they are competent within their job.
  • Ensuring all pre-start checks are carried out and signed off at the start of each shift.
  • Ensuring all necessary paperwork is present and completed during production.
  • Accountable for weights, metal detection, product quality & waste.
  • Identifying and reporting any faults with machinery/equipment as soon as they become apparent.
  • Liaising with other departments in line with demands of production whilst minimising disruption.
  • Managing staff absence through return-to-work interviews.
  • Pro-actively forecasting rotas to ensure correct staffing levels at all times.
  • Strong focus on improving the efficiency of your set line.
