Dispatch Operative in Middlesbrough

Job Purpose:
The Dispatch Operative plays a key role in ensuring that customer orders are accurately picked, labelled, and prepared for dispatch in a timely and efficient manner. Working closely with the Dispatch Manager and Supervisors, you will help ensure that all products leaving the site meet customer requirements, quality standards, and delivery deadlines.
The role also includes an early stage “take off” function, where you will be responsible for removing finished products from the production line from 7:00am, checking them, and packing them into boxes ready for onward processing. This is a fast-paced role within a busy production environment, supporting the daily distribution of high volumes of fresh food products.
Working hours typically start between 9:30am and 10:30am, operating on a 7-day production schedule which includes weekends. The role requires good attention to detail, basic numeracy skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure to ensure all customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
· Ensure all customer orders are picked accurately and in a timely manner, meeting company specifications with a strong focus on quality.
· Pick products to exact customer requirements, ensuring items are undamaged, correctly handled, and prepared hygienically while minimising waste of time and materials.
· Accurately count and verify all picked products to ensure order correctness before dispatch.
· Maintain clear communication with supervisors and managers, highlighting any issues or risks in the picking process before they escalate.
· Complete all required paperwork accurately, ensuring records are clear, legible, and up to date.
· Be responsible for packing a designated section each day, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
