On a Roll Sandwich Company are recruiting for a full time Junior Buyer. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, working within a fast-paced, high-performing manufacturing environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an organised and driven individual to gain hands-on buying experience and progress. The role requires flexibility to work between office settings and temperature-controlled environments, including chilled, ambient, and freezer areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Raise and manage purchase orders for raw materials, packaging, and consumables, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Work closely with existing suppliers to maintain on-time deliveries and resolve any supply issues that may arise.
- Investigate and address stock discrepancies, escalating findings to management where necessary.
- Support cost-saving initiatives and monitor supplier performance, including lead times, pricing, and product availability.
- Assist in sourcing new suppliers and obtaining quotations to ensure competitive and reliable supply options.
- Take part in stock takes and support the reconciliation of inventory records.
- Generate and maintain departmental records in the business systems and reports environment to support reporting and analysis, while also providing general administrative support to the wider operations and supply chain team as required.
About You:
- CIPS level 3 or higher in procurement and supply (desirable)
- Experience in food sector involving raw materials and/or packaging buying (desirable)
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven
- Dynamic and adaptable in fast-paced environments
- Comfortable in hands-on, physical roles
- Able to work effectively in temperature-controlled settings
- Eager to learn, develop, and progress within the business
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Highly proficient in IT and computer systems
- Strong communication and literacy skills
- Performs well under pressure with a focus on efficiency and accuracy
This is a permanent position. Working hours are 08:30 till 17:00. This vacancy will remain open until 15 May 2026, with interviews scheduled to take place during the week commencing 18 May 2026.
