We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to work with us at our Middlesbrough site with our existing small engineering team. You will be based from our purpose-built food manufacturing facility with significant investment and current generation machinery.
The Role
You will work in a 2-person team, for the most part, liaising with production, hygiene and our technical department. The engineering team undertake planned and preventative maintenance and there’s a huge variety of tasks that will range from general plant maintenance and breakdowns to building and site repairs. The factory operates on a 7-day per week basis, including weekends and bank holidays so you must be ready and able to commit to out of "office hours" working.
What you will be doing
- You’ll be driven and skilled in finding and rectifying faults on our busy production lines, conducting planned and preventative maintenance and working on a variety of equipment such as flow wrappers and ultrasonic cutters.
- Maintain high standards on site, by performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities, ensuring that PPM records are continuously updated.
- Being accountable for assigned jobs.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
- Work to the highest standards of safety, quality and hygiene on a busy food manufacturing site.
- Providing knowledge, experience and support to install, maintain and repair production equipment.
- Carrying out PPM in accordance with maintenance schedules.
- Carrying out reactive maintenance as required.
- Identifying and implementing improvements on equipment.
About You
- Able to work a Friday to Monday shift (42 hours per week) with occasional flexibility to cover holidays.
- Mechanical and Electrical Engineering experience is essential.
- Your application will be enhanced if you have Flow Wrap experience.
- Excellent route cause analysis skills.
- Knowledge and experience of maintenance preferably in a FMCG environment.
- H&S/Food Safety systems and legislation knowledge would be an advantage.
- 17th/18th edition desirable.
- Strong decision making skills.
