Job Location: Middlesbrough, UK

Term: Full Time

Reporting To: Production Manager

Job Summary: Working in a food production environment, ensuring the preparation of our food to go products is carried out effectively and with attention to our food safety and quality procedures. The nature of the work means that you will be working in a chilled or ambient environment, on your feet for the duration of the shift. We have a great team and there is always the opportunity for development for those who work hard and are willing to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Starting between 6 and 7am, we are always on the lookout for Food Production Operatives to work on our food production lines and in our connected preparation rooms.
  • We can offer you 5 shifts per week (out of a 7 production cycle including weekends).
  • As we produce fresh food, there is no set finish time: Your shift finishes when your part of production ends. However, that means that we pay you for every hour that you work!

Points To Note:

  • We care about food quality and so our production floor and connecting rooms are chilled environments (our fridges can be cold).
  • We can produce over 100,000 sandwiches every day so our roles are fast-paced and the work can be repetitive – for that reason, applicants must be motivated to work long shifts.
  • There is limited public transport on the estate where we are based so please research that you can attend early morning and late evening shifts.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Working on a production line
  • Handling raw materials, including meats (including products derived from pig)
  • Cutting & chopping
  • Operating machinery
  • Cleaning machinery
  • Packing finished products
  • Labelling
  • Record keeping
  • Quality checking
  • General housekeeping
  • Work towards and achieving targets
  • Working in accordance with health & safety policies

If you apply for a role with us, you will be invited to attend a group screening session where a manager and member of the HR team will ask about your experience in more detail.

Key Skills Required:

  • Experience of working in a food environment is advantageous, however full training will be given.
  • Candidates must be flexible, hard-working and possess a positive attitude to work.
  • If you have experience working in a production environment, then we would love to hear from you.
