OMS Group (UKI) Limited is seeking a dedicated and reliable Security and Safety Officer to join our team. The role is due to start early 2026 and is an ongoing position for the right candidate. The ideal applicant will ensure a safe and secure environment during term time, providing essential support to our operations.
IMPORTANT: It is crucial to highlight that an enhanced DBS certificate, as opposed to a standard one, is necessary for this position. Although we will initiate this check on your behalf, Sussex Police may take up to six months to finalise an enhanced DBS check. Therefore, it is essential that you already possess this certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and patrol designated areas to ensure the safety and security of premises, students, and staff.
- Control access to facilities, checking identification and authorisations as needed.
- Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies, providing assistance and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain a visible security presence to deter potential incidents and enhance community assurance.
- Conduct regular inspections of the premises for potential health and safety hazards.
- Prepare and maintain security reports, logs, and incident records.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as necessary.
- Attend training sessions and briefings to stay updated on security procedures and protocols.
Requirements
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding license is mandatory.
- Recent Enhanced DBS certificate dated within the last 12 months.
- Own transport or live locally to location.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a proactive approach to securing safety.
