Role Purpose
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Warranty Specialist to join the Chery UK Aftersales team. This is a key role responsible for the end-to-end management of warranty operations across our UK dealer network. The successful candidate will oversee warranty claim approval, continuously improve warranty processes and policies, and deliver training to dealerships to ensure compliance with Chery's warranty standards. This position plays a vital part in controlling warranty costs, enhancing product reliability, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Warranty Claim Review & Approval
- Review, validate, and approve warranty claims submitted by the dealer network, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Chery's warranty policies and manufacturer guidelines.
- Assess repair orders for proper documentation, labour operation codes, failure codes, and causal parts verification.
- Identify and flag potentially fraudulent or non-compliant claims and escalde as appropriate.
- Handle claim corrections, rejections, and charge-backs, ensuring timely resubmission and resolution.
2. Warranty Process Improvement & Policy Development
- Continuously review and refine warranty claim processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyse warranty data and KPI reports to identify recurring product or service issues, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvement areas.
- Monitor warranty spend, burn rates, and outstanding receivables; prepare monthly warranty performance and trend reports for management.
- Stay current with all OEM announcements, factory recalls, technical bulletins, and warranty policy updates.
- Develop and deliver warranty-related training programmes to the Chery UK dealer network, covering claim submission procedures, policy interpretation, and common claim errors.
- Provide ongoing guidance and technical support to dealership service teams on warranty policy, claim documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct regular warranty audits (virtual and on-site) at dealer locations to ensure adherence to Chery's standards and identify improvement opportunities.
- Communicate warranty policy updates, bulletins, and best practices to the dealer network in a timely manner.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Liaise with Chery International and other internal stakeholders on warranty-related inquiries and escalations.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with dealer partners, service technicians, and internal aftersales teams.
- Collaborate with the parts department to ensure warranty parts are properly retained, labelled, and available for inspection.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in automotive warranty administration, aftersales, or service operations.
- Proven experience in reviewing, processing, and approving warranty claims in line with OEM policies.
- Strong understanding of warranty claim procedures, dealer processes, and manufacturer compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret warranty data and identify trends.
- Outstanding attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience working with an importer, distributor, or OEM aftersales team.
- Familiarity with Chery or other Chinese automotive brand warranty policies.
