Our consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled Lead Business & Technical Analyst to support a key asset management client. This individual will serve as the technical business lead across all trade order management system (OMS) initiatives, working directly with front-office personnel—including Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Operations —to drive project delivery, workflow design, and ongoing system enhancements.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience implementing and supporting both vendor-based (particularly Charles River IMS) and in-house-built OMS platforms. Strong domain expertise across investment products and trade lifecycle processes is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the SME and primary liaison between business users and technical teams for Charles River OMS projects.
- Partner with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Operations to gather and document functional and technical requirements.
- Design and optimize OMS workflows using Manager Workbench , Trading Blotter, System Administration , and other Charles River components and modules.
- Plan, lead, and deliver OMS implementations, enhancements, and upgrades, including managing timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Architect data integrations and support data flow mappings across trade lifecycle systems.
- Leverage APIs and web services to extend platform functionality, as needed.
- Prepare and execute test cases, conduct unit testing, and coordinate with QA teams.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously across client engagements.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and deliver high-quality consulting outcomes.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Must be authorized to work in the UK .
- 3+ years of experience working with Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS) , specifically with Manager Workbench and Trading Blotter modules.
- Experience in workflow design and customization within Charles River OMS.
- Strong understanding of trade lifecycle and front-to-back processes across multiple asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives, etc.).
- Proven experience gathering requirements and translating them into functional/technical specs.
- Hands-on development or scripting experience in C#, Python, and/or Java in enterprise environments.
- Proficiency with SQL (T-SQL or PL/SQL) for data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with integration protocols including FIX , Bloomberg Trading , and OMGEO/CTM .
- Working knowledge of Portfolio Management Systems , Security Master , and P&L/Accounting Data is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to work independently in a client-facing role.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with exotic derivatives and/or structured products .
- Experience with Factset’s Portware (EMS).
- Previous consulting experience or ability to thrive in a multi-client, fast-paced environment.
- Project management certifications or formal training (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) a plus.
